Abies holophylla, commonly known as Manchurian Fir, is an evergreen tree native to mountainous regions and mixed forests in East Asia, particularly in Korea, northeastern China, and southeastern Russia. It can reach a height of 60-90 feet (18-27 meters) and a width of 40-75 feet (12-23 meters). The Manchurian Fir has a conical shape with a straight trunk and horizontal branches that create a dense, pyramidal form. Its needles are dark green, glossy, and arranged spirally on the branches, contributing to its ornamental value. The tree produces cylindrical cones that are purple when young, maturing to brown. It flowers in late spring to early summer.

The Manchurian Fir is valued for its attractive form and foliage, making it suitable for use as a specimen tree in large gardens and parks. It is also used in reforestation projects in its native range. This species prefers cool, humid climates and is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution. It requires full sun to light shade and thrives in well-drained, acidic to neutral soils. While it is not commonly found in cultivation outside its native range, it can be a unique addition to arboreta and botanical gardens.
