This species typically forms clumps with narrow bulbs and produces scapes that can reach up to 24 inches tall. Its flowers are white or pale red with a distinctive red midvein and bloom in the summer, offering a light, pleasant fragrance. The plant’s foliage is also notable for its long, slender, green leaves that resemble chives.
