Berchemia floribunda, commonly known as Rattan Vine, is a deciduous climbing shrub or small tree native to temperate and subtropical regions of East Asia, including China, Japan, and Korea, as well as parts of India. It is commonly found in a variety of habitats such as mixed forests, forest margins, thickets, and along roadsides, typically at elevations between 300 and 2000 meters. Rattan Vine can grow at a moderate rate to a height of 15-30 feet (4.6-9 meters) and is characterized by its twining habit, which allows it to climb over other vegetation.

The plant features green or yellow flowers that are relatively inconspicuous and bloom in the summer. Despite their lack of showiness, the flowers are followed by attractive blue-black berries that are a food source for birds and other wildlife. Rattan Vine is valued in cultivation for its ability to cover trellises and arbors, creating natural green screens. It is also used for erosion control on slopes due to its robust rooting system. This species thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers medium or fast-draining soils, including clay, loam, or sandy types.
