Cayratia geniculata, commonly known as the Slender Grape, is a perennial vine native to tropical and subtropical forests in Southeast Asia and the Himalayas. It typically climbs to a height of 6-9 feet (1.8-2.7 meters) and can spread 8-12 feet (2.4-3.7 meters) wide. The vine is characterized by its slender stems and alternately arranged leaves, which are divided into three to five leaflets with serrated margins. It produces small, inconspicuous greenish flowers, followed by clusters of dark purple to black berries that are attractive to birds and other wildlife.

The Slender Grape is valued for its ability to cover trellises and arbors quickly, providing lush greenery and shade. It is often used for ornamental purposes in tropical and subtropical gardens. This vine thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soil. It is relatively low maintenance but may require regular pruning to control its vigorous growth.
