Cistus ×laxus, commonly known as Pink Rockrose or Lax Rockrose, is a hybrid shrub of garden origin resulting from the cross between Cistus inflatus and Cistus populifolius. It is a moderate grower reaching a height of 4-5 feet (1.2-1.5 meters) and a width of 5-6 feet (1.5-1.8 meters). This plant is characterized by its gray-green foliage and large, pink, papery flowers that bloom profusely in the spring and continue into the summer, providing a long-lasting display of color. The flowers are particularly showy, with each blossom lasting only a day before being replaced by new ones.

Pink Rockrose is valued for its drought tolerance and ability to thrive in poor soils, making it an excellent choice for xeriscaping and Mediterranean-style gardens. It is often used in mass plantings for a stunning visual effect or as an informal hedge. Its low water requirements and preference for well-drained soils make it suitable for regions with dry climates. While it thrives in full sun, it can tolerate light shade. Gardeners should note that although Cistus ×laxus is generally disease-resistant, it can be susceptible to root rot if overwatered or planted in poorly drained soils.
