It typically grows to a height of 6-9 feet (1.8-2.7 meters) and a width of 3-6 feet (0.9-1.8 meters). This species is characterized by its dense, rounded form and large, heart-shaped leaves. The showy flowers, which bloom in the spring, are composed of white and pink bracts that surround small, tubular flowers, creating a striking contrast against the foliage. The flowers are followed by small, blue-black berries that are attractive to birds.

The Chinese Glory Flower is valued for its ornamental flowers and foliage, which can add a tropical feel to gardens. It is suitable for use as a specimen plant, in mixed borders, or as part of a tropical-themed garden. It is adaptable to a range of soil types, provided they are well-drained, and it requires regular watering to maintain its lush appearance.
