Crassula pubescens subsp. radicans, commonly known as Red-stem Crassula or Small Red Carpet Stonecrop, is an evergreen succulent plant native to the rocky outcrops and slopes of Southern Africa. It exhibits a moderate growth rate, typically reaching 0.5-1 feet (0.15-0.3 meters) in height and spreading 1-2 feet (0.3-0.6 meters) wide. The plant forms a dense mat of small, rounded leaves that are green with reddish edges, often intensifying in color under stress or cooler temperatures. The stems are notable for their reddish hue. During the summer, it produces clusters of small, star-shaped white flowers that add to its ornamental value.

Red-stem Crassula is valued for its drought tolerance and ease of care, making it a popular choice for rock gardens, succulent collections, and as ground cover in xeriscaped areas. It is also used in containers and hanging baskets for its trailing habit. This succulent thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers well-draining loam or sandy soils. It requires minimal water once established, making it an excellent plant for water-wise gardening.
