During its flowering season, which occurs in the summer and fall, it produces small clusters of flowers that can be pink, yellow, or white and are notable for their lack of hair, contrasting with the woolly leaves.

In cultivation, Slender Woolly Buckwheat is valued for its drought tolerance and its ability to thrive in poor soils, making it an excellent choice for xeriscaping and naturalistic plantings. It is also used in pollinator gardens due to its attractive flowers that provide nectar for bees and butterflies.
