Summary
Apache Plume is valued for its drought tolerance, low maintenance, and erosion control properties, making it an excellent choice for xeriscaping and naturalistic plantings in arid landscapes. It is also used for wildlife gardens as it provides nectar for wasps and other pollinators. While it thrives in part shade, Apache Plume can also tolerate full sun, especially in cooler climates. It requires minimal water once established and prefers well-drained soils. Gardeners should note that while it is generally disease-free, it can occasionally suffer from root rot in poorly drained soils.CC BY-SA 4.0
