Fumaria barnolae subsp. barnolae, commonly known as Asian Bleeding Heart, is a deciduous perennial herb native to southwest Europe to Italy. It typically grows to a height and width of 2-3 feet (0.6-0.9 meters), forming clumps of soft, green foliage. The plant is known for its heart-shaped flowers that hang in graceful racemes, displaying a combination of pink, red, and white colors during the spring season. The flowers are quite showy and attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

Asian Bleeding Heart is valued for its ornamental flowers and its ability to thrive in shaded garden areas where other plants may struggle. It is often used in woodland gardens, shaded borders, and as an underplanting for taller shrubs or trees. This plant prefers consistently moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter and thrives in part shade to full shade conditions. While generally easy to maintain, it can be susceptible to fungal diseases in overly wet or poorly drained soils.
