Justicia corumbensis, commonly known as Brazilian Plume Flower, is a perennial herb native to the tropical rainforests and subtropical regions of Brazil. It typically grows to a height of 2-3 feet (0.6-0.9 meters) and spreads to a similar width. The Brazilian Plume Flower is characterized by its lush green foliage and spikes of brightly colored flowers that can range from white to pink, red, or purple, blooming in succession from spring to fall. The flowers are quite showy and attract hummingbirds and butterflies, adding to the plant’s ornamental value.

In cultivation, Justicia corumbensis is valued for its continuous flowering and tropical appearance. It is often used in borders, as a bedding plant, or in containers for patios and indoor settings. This plant prefers partial to full shade, consistently moist but well-drained soil, and warm temperatures, being sensitive to frost. It is relatively easy to maintain, requiring regular watering and occasional pruning to promote bushier growth. While not commonly reported to have significant disease or pest problems, it can be susceptible to root rot if overwatered.
