Lilium brownii, commonly known as Hong Kong lily, is a perennial herbaceous plant native to forest margins, grassy slopes, and mountainous regions in Mainland China, Hong Kong, the Kinmen and Matsu Islands, northern and central Vietnam, and Kachin in Myanmar. It is a part of the Liliaceae family and is known for its large, trumpet-shaped, fragrant flowers that are typically white on the inside and purplish-brown on the outside. The blooming period occurs in the summer, and the flowers are highly showy, making it a popular choice for ornamental use. The plant can reach a height of up to 1.2 meters and prefers well-drained, loamy soils.

In cultivation, the Hong Kong lily is valued for its striking appearance and fragrance, which can enhance sensory gardens and attract pollinators. It is often used in borders, as a specimen plant, or in mixed perennial beds. Gardeners should provide it with full sun to partial shade and ensure moderate watering, as it does not tolerate waterlogged conditions.
