Lonicera rhytidophylla, commonly known as Wrinkled-leaf Honeysuckle or Leather-leaf Honeysuckle, is a deciduous shrub native to mountain slopes, forest clearings, and scrublands in China. It typically grows at a moderate rate to a height of 6-8 feet (1.8-2.4 meters) and a width of 5-7 feet (1.5-2.1 meters). This species is characterized by its wrinkled, dark green leaves and cream or yellow flowers that are notably showy, blooming profusely in the spring and early summer. The flowers are followed by red berries that attract birds and other wildlife.

Wrinkled-leaf Honeysuckle is valued for its ability to thrive in a variety of conditions and its use in creating informal hedges or as a specimen in mixed borders. Its flowers provide nectar for pollinators, while the dense foliage offers shelter for birds. In cultivation, it prefers full sun to part shade and adapts well to medium or fast-draining clay, loam, or sandy soils. It requires medium amounts of water and benefits from mulching to maintain soil moisture. While generally low-maintenance, it can be susceptible to powdery mildew and should be monitored for aphids.
