Pavetta lanceolata, commonly known as Weeping Brides-Bush, Bride’s Bush, Forest Pavetta, or Christmas Pride, is an evergreen shrub native to the understory of tropical rainforests and open woodlands in parts of tropical and subtropical Asia and Africa. It exhibits a moderate growth rate, reaching heights of 6-10 feet (1.8-3 meters) and widths of 4-8 feet (1.2-2.4 meters). The plant features glossy, deep green leaves and clusters of fragrant, white flowers that are quite showy, blooming profusely in the summer and spring. After flowering, it may produce small, black berries that attract birds.

Pavetta lanceolata is valued for its ornamental flowers, which make it a popular choice for garden borders, urban landscapes, and as a feature plant in tropical gardens. It is relatively easy to maintain, requiring only occasional pruning to shape and promote denser foliage. This shrub thrives in a range of soil types, including clay, loam, and sandy soils, as long as they provide medium to fast drainage. It prefers full sun to part shade and requires regular watering to establish, after which it can tolerate moderate drought.
