Psilostrophe tagetina, commonly known as Woolly Paperflower, is a deciduous biennial or perennial subshrub or herb native to arid and semi-arid regions, including grasslands, deserts, and scrublands in the Southwestern United States and Northwestern Mexico. It typically grows to a height of 0.5-1 feet (0.15-0.3 meters) and spreads to about 1 foot (0.3 meters) wide. The plant is characterized by its narrow, woolly leaves and bright yellow, daisy-like flowers that bloom in the summer and fall, adding a splash of color to the landscape. The flowers are particularly showy and can persist on the plant, providing extended visual interest even after they have dried.
Woolly Paperflower is valued for its drought tolerance and ability to thrive in challenging environments, making it an excellent choice for xeriscaping and low-water gardens.
