During the summer, it produces clusters of white, showy flowers that are attractive to pollinators. The fruit is a small, red to black berry that is enjoyed by wildlife.

Rubus radula is valued for its wildlife benefits and as a naturalizing plant in garden settings. It can be used for border planting, as a ground cover, or in naturalized areas where its thorny stems can provide cover for small animals. This shrub thrives in a range of soil types, including clay, loam, and sandy soils, provided they have medium to fast drainage.
