Summary
The panicled bulrush is valued for its ability to stabilize soil and filter water in wetland restoration projects. It is also used in rain gardens and naturalized areas where its adaptability to wet conditions is beneficial. In cultivation, it thrives in full sun but can tolerate part shade, and it is not particular about soil type, tolerating fast, medium, or slow drainage. While it does best with medium amounts of water, it can also withstand periods of flooding. This species is relatively low-maintenance and can be an asset in erosion control. However, it can spread aggressively through its rhizome system, which should be considered when planting in smaller spaces or near garden borders.CC BY-SA 4.0
