Thalictrum minus subsp. saxatile, commonly known as Lesser Meadow Rue, is a deciduous perennial herb native to Europe and North Africa. It typically grows to a height and width of approximately 3 feet (0.9 meters), forming a clump of delicate, blue-green foliage. The plant produces airy clusters of tiny, pendulous, lavender to white flowers in the summer, which are quite showy and attract pollinators. The foliage resembles that of columbine or maidenhair fern, adding a fine-textured element to garden compositions.

Lesser Meadow Rue is valued for its graceful appearance and the charming effect of its flowers that seem to float above the foliage. It is used in border plantings, woodland gardens, and naturalized areas. This species prefers consistently moist, well-drained soils rich in organic matter, and it can tolerate both full sun and part shade. While generally low-maintenance, it may require staking in very rich soils or overly windy sites.
