Trevesia palmata, commonly known as Snowflake Aralia, is an evergreen tree native to the understory of tropical rainforests in Southeast Asia, including regions such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Borneo. It typically grows to a height of 6-20 feet (1.8-6.1 meters) and a width of 3-8 feet (0.9-2.4 meters). The plant is notable for its deeply lobed, palmate leaves that resemble snowflakes, hence the common name. The leaves can be quite large, adding to the plant’s ornamental value. Snowflake Aralia blooms with clusters of small, inconspicuous white and yellow flowers, which are less showy than its foliage.

Snowflake Aralia is valued for its unique foliage and is often used as a focal point in tropical and subtropical gardens. It can also be grown as a houseplant in cooler climates. This species prefers a humid environment and can tolerate a range of light conditions, from full sun to part shade. It requires well-draining soil and can be watered moderately, with less frequent watering needed if grown in lower light conditions.
