Estimated Native Range
Summary
Yucca constricta, commonly known as Buckley’s Yucca, is an evergreen succulent native to the rocky outcrops and grasslands of northeastern Mexico and Texas. It typically grows to a height of 2-5 feet (0.6-1.5 meters) and a width of up to 3 feet (0.9 meters). Buckley’s Yucca has a rosette of narrow, stiff, blue-green leaves that end in a sharp point. In the spring, it produces tall spikes of creamy white, bell-shaped flowers that are quite showy and attract pollinators such as moths.
Buckley’s Yucca is valued for its drought tolerance and architectural form, making it a popular choice for xeriscaping, rock gardens, and desert-themed landscapes. It is also used as an accent plant in borders and containers. This yucca species is well-suited to hot, dry climates and requires minimal maintenance once established. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, preferably sandy or rocky. While generally pest-free, it can occasionally suffer from yucca weevil infestations.CC BY-SA 4.0
