Zephyranthes candida, commonly known as Autumn Zephyrlily, is a perennial herb that can be evergreen or deciduous depending on the climate. It is native to the grasslands and marshy areas of Southern Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay, where it thrives in moist, open spaces. This plant typically grows to a height of 10-30 cm with a similar spread, forming clumps of narrow, strap-like leaves. The flowers are particularly striking, emerging in late summer to early autumn; they are pure white, trumpet-shaped, and appear to be quite showy against the green foliage. The blooming period can extend into October in the Northern Hemisphere, providing a late-season display.

The Autumn Zephyrlily is valued for its ease of care and the bright, clean look of its flowers. It is often used in borders, rock gardens, and as a ground cover. It is also suitable for container planting, allowing for overwintering in colder climates. While it prefers full sun to part shade, it requires consistently moist soil, especially during the growing season.
